Getting started
- Sign in on hometray.co.uk or in the Hometray app, with Apple, Google or a code sent to your email.
- Set up your family and add each child's school and year group. Hometray adds their term dates, holidays, INSET days and school events.
- Send Hometray your school emails: forward them to your family's Hometray address (Settings → Forwarding), or set up your email to forward them automatically.
- Paper letters: photograph them in the app (Add), or share a photo, PDF or screenshot to Hometray from another app.
Common questions
Something's missing or wrong on my list. Check Settings → History to see what Hometray read from each email or letter. You can read it again, delete it, or email us and we'll look into it.
My school's term dates aren't there or look wrong. In Settings → Children you can confirm them, or upload or photograph the school's term dates letter and Hometray will use that.
How do I add my partner or a grandparent? Settings → Adults → share an invite link or send an invite by email. They sign in with their own account.
Can I see it in my own calendar? Yes: Settings → Calendar gives you a private link for Google, Apple or Outlook calendar.
How do I turn notifications or the Sunday email off? In the app: Settings → Notifications. The week-ahead email also has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Who reads my emails? Only what you send Hometray is read, by Anthropic's Claude AI, to find dates and to-dos. Hometray never sees your inbox. See the privacy policy.
How do I delete my account? Settings → Adults → Delete my account, on the website or in the app. If you're the only adult in your family, your family's information is deleted too.
Which schools does Hometray cover? Schools in England, with term dates from councils and schools' own websites. If yours is missing something, email us.
