For parents drowning in school emails
School emails from everywhere. Organised in one place.
The school office, the class teacher, ParentPay, the newsletter, a letter in the book bag. And that's just one child. Hometray gathers it all, works out what matters for each child, and turns it into one tidy list of days off, deadlines and things to do.
Free during early access. Sign in with Google or your email.
Two schools. A dozen senders. One list.
Every school does it differently, and every child brings more of it. Different term dates, different INSET days, different apps for payments, homework and clubs. Keeping track means checking everything, every day.
- ✓By child. Colour-coded, so you can see at a glance who needs what.
- ✓By date. Days off, back-to-school days, trips and events, in order.
- ✓By what needs doing. Payments, forms and deadlines become to-dos you can tick off.
- ✓Noise out of the way. Other year groups, classes and houses hidden. Optional clubs and fundraisers tucked away.
Reads emails from your school and the apps it uses, including
ParentPay · Arbor · ParentMail · SchoolPost · Bromcom · Edulink One · Satchel One · Sparx · SchoolCloud · School Gateway · ClassDojo · Seesaw · Tapestry · Google Classroom · Microsoft Teams Assignments · Microsoft Sway newsletters
Product names belong to their owners. Hometray isn't connected to or endorsed by them; it reads the emails they send you.
How it works
- 1
Add your children
Pick each child's school and year. Hometray brings in their term dates, INSET days and school calendar straight away.
- 2
Send school emails to Hometray
Forward them, or set up a filter once so school emails go automatically. Hometray reads letters, PDFs, photos and newsletters, and pulls out every date and to-do.
- 3
See the week ahead
One simple list for the whole family, with each child's days off, deadlines and events, plus a summary email every Sunday afternoon.
Made for real school life
Term dates and INSET days, done for you
Found on your council's or school's website for most schools, or read from the school's letter, with a clear "back to school" day for every child after every holiday.
Reads what schools actually send
Emails, PDF letters, photos of paper letters, app screenshots and newsletters, including the ones schools only send as a link.
Every child, every school
Children at different schools with different holidays and INSET days? Each child gets their own dates, all in the same list.
Only what's meant for your child
Events for other year groups, classes and houses are hidden, and optional clubs and fundraisers stay out of the way until you want them.
Both parents, any household
Invite a partner, grandparent or co-parent in another home. Everyone sees the same up-to-date list.
Your week, every Sunday
A short email every Sunday afternoon with what's on for the week ahead, so Monday morning holds no surprises.
Your inbox stays private.
- Hometray never reads your inbox, only the school emails you send it.
- Your family's data is stored in the UK and never sold or used for adverts.
- Forwarded emails and uploaded letters are deleted after 90 days, and you can delete anything at any time.
Questions
Which schools does it work with?+
Schools in England. Hometray finds term dates and INSET days from your council or your school's own website for most schools, and picks up the school's online calendar if it has one. If it can't find them, upload the school's term dates letter and they're added in seconds.
Do I have to forward my emails?+
No. Term dates and school events appear as soon as you add your children. Forwarding school emails, or setting up a filter that does it for you, adds trips, payments, forms and everything else in the letters.
Will Hometray read my inbox?+
Never. Hometray only sees the emails you forward or the filter sends, and the filter only matches your schools and school apps. Everything else stays in your inbox.
Which email do I need?+
Any. There are step-by-step guides for Gmail, Outlook and Hotmail, and iCloud, and you can always forward an email or upload a photo of a letter by hand.
Can both parents use it?+
Yes. Invite another adult with a link or by email. They see the same children and the same list, even if they live in a different house.
Is there an app?+
Hometray works in your phone's browser. Add it to your home screen and it opens full screen, like an app.
How much does it cost?+
Hometray is free while it's in early access. We'll tell you before anything you use becomes paid.
